How to configure your system to download torrent during night time and shut down automatically in day time

    Hi I am using BSNL broad band connection. I have night unlimited usage. Since I am an early sleeper and late bloomer,  I want to schedule  my PC to wake up @ 2.00 am and start download and shut down @ 8.00 am.(automatically). So lets start.

Windows Task Scheduler

        This is a utility comes with all version of windows. You can use this tool to schedule a task and lots of customizations are available.

 go to : Start>Control Panel>All Control Panel Items>Administrative Tools>Task Scheduler
you can see a window like this.

Creating a Task

•  Click Create Task on top right corner of the Task Scheduler window.
• Then a pop up window as shown below will appear.
• Give a name to the task 
• check Run whether user is logged on or not radio as sh won below.

• Now click the triggers tab and fill in  the details as shown below

• Click on actions tab and fill the details as show below

• Click on conditions tab and fill the details as shown below 

• Click on setting tab and fill the details as shown below 

• Then click OK, at this time the system will ask your user name and password, give it.Now your task is ready 

• Put the system in sleep mode before you go to sleep, then the system will wake up automatically at the desired time and start downloading torrent. 

Important

• If you shut down the system it will not wake up. (put in sleep  mode)
• Make sure that power supply and modem is switched own 
• Even though the system starts running the program on scheduled time, screen will be blank. You need to manually log in to the system. 
• If you check for uTorrent in system tray it will not be there, It is running in the background. So you need to click UTorrent.exe file to open it. After opening, it will check the file and show thee progress. 

How to make the system shut down after the free usage period .

• Go to Task Scheduler as described above . Click on create new task and give the details as shown below.

Important 

•  If you are logged in to the system, the system will show a message one minute before shutting down and you can't stop the shut down process. So don't forget to save your files.

Increaasing Torrent Download speed

Here I am describing best way to download torrent and increase security and sped of your torrent download.

Torrentz : Is the best website for searching torrents (torrent search engine ) . It will give a list of websites which are providing torrents.
  I am not satisfied with there search engine so I used to use google to search but my keyword will be like this "torrent name + torrent z".
Example: If I want to download the movie cars2 I will search it ass "cars2 torrentz" then the google will give link to torrentz page with list of webs offering the torrent.


Seeders >>>> Leeches : If you reached a torrent download page don't simply click the download button, a couple of things to be noticed before downloading.
 Every site will display the properties of torrent, download the torrent if you have a good number of seeders. Because seeders are people who are offering you the file and leechers are people who download the torrent from your computers.

•  So always prefer torrents having large number of seeds.

• Don't click on wrong download buttons. The download button marked red in above picture is some advertisement. Click on download torrent button.

• Please go through all the comments because some torrent files may contain viruses. 

Optimize uTorrent
      So many torrent clients are available now a days but I prefer uTorrent. Below I am describing how to optimize the settings of uTorrent to make the download faster. 
 Once you open the torrent file in uTorrent do the following.

• Set Download limit to high and upload limit to low as shown below : 

         Interface shown above can be obtained by clicking settings button on top right corner of uTorrent user interface.

After finishing download

•     Right click on the torrent > Click open containing folder and then move the downloaded fil to some location.
• Select the torrent and click delete button (top middle). (If you accidentally deleted the torrent don't worry your downloaded files will be there in directory )
